Elementary (K-6th)

I have been an elementary teacher for 10 years. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. I also have a variety of tutoring experiences with elementary school children, including a current afterschool program that I work with.
Phonics,

Phonics

As a former first grade teacher, I have a lot of experience with teaching phonics. I think that teaching phonics in a whole language context is important, because the child needs to see that the sounds make words, words make sentences, and sentences make books and open a whole new world!
Study Skills,

Study Skills

As a teacher for the past 8 years, I have witnessed what does and doesn't make a student successful. Organization and Study Skills are important for success in school and in life.
