I have a lot of experience tutoring at this point. During high school, I participated in a peer tutoring program through National Honor Society, where I tutored peers who felt that they needed extra help in a subject area. I have a lot of experience tutoring at this point. During high school, I participated in a peer tutoring program through National Honor Society, where I tutored peers who felt that they needed extra help in a subject area. I mostly specialized in math and science. I also volunteered at an after school program to tutor elementary school students from underserved backgrounds. Additionally, in the summer after high school I began tutoring online on Chegg.com (formerly InstaEDU), and have countless hours of tutoring experience on the site, helping students primarily in math and science, but also in a variety of fields: I often found myself helping them write college and school essays, work through the Common Application, and helping them get a firm grasp of American history.

I find that it's best when I work with students when I work at their pace, whether it is "fast" or "slow". Receiving feedback from students when they are understanding something and we can move on or when they are struggling with a concept and need to spend more time on it is key. I work with students to find out what style works bet for them and I run with it... and of course, it is important to maintain a friendly attitude so they don't feel intimidated or reluctant to ask questions that they may feel are too basic.

Through tutoring, I have gotten to know many of the students and how they learn, and I have guided them in their personal development. I see teaching others as a way to help others as well as to develop myself.

I love to tutor math. I got a perfect score on the math ACT and a 35 composite score (34 reading, 36 math, 35 science, 35 writing) and love to help people understand math concepts. Additionally I got a perfect score on the Math Level 2 and American History SAT Subject Tests.

Having gone through the college admissions process and having gotten into several Ivy League schools, MIT, and other highly competitive institutions, I think that I would be able to give great guidance and mentorship to those going through the colle

Very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile

Rod was very kind to me even though I was really behind in my class's material. He worked carefully to help me create code that fit the requirements of the homework, even though the criteria was very limiting. I also really needed explanations in "plain English", which he worked hard to help me with. Rod really works hard to make sure you understand the material, and he repeatedly explained concepts to me because I was so confused. Very patient and a great tutor!
