About Eric

I love the English language and I am excited to be able to inspire others and hopefully even inspire them to feel the same way. I have experience teaching at the SONYC after school program for Child Center of NY. It was with middle school students, but I am comfortable with any age range.

I'm currently attending John Jay College for Criminal Justice. My major is Law and Society, a degree concerned with understanding Law as an instrument of social change, and examining how law affects society and vice versa.

I cover a wide variety of facets of the English language including: Grammar, Vocabulary, Literature, Punctuation, and even SAT and NYS Regents prep, and more.

For students taking Spanish class I also offer tutoring in this subject.

The very first time I took the SATs I achieved a score of 1800. The bulk of the score came from the reading and writing section, as that's what I excel at. I also scored a perfect 100 in both my English and Spanish NYS Regents.

Whatever part of the English language is tripping you up, I can help you get through it. Whether its writing essays, or you need grammar help, or perhaps you want to study for the SATs or NYS English Regents.

Spanish is actually my first language. My parents are both of hispanic descent. Meaning you would be learning from a native speaker!

My approach to tutoring is all about immersion. It is quite easy get distracted in the modern age and to lose focus on our studies. That is why I feel one of my first goals is to help a student center themselves and focus on their studies. I work to make the student feel as comfortable as possible while trying to make the process of studying more enjoyable. Once a student starts to feel this way they will actually want to study, and it will make it that much easier for them to achieve their academic goals.

I charge $40 for both in person and online tutoring, and am available weekdays from 4pm to 10pm. Weekends I am available 10am to 3pm. Please, do contact me to learn more and schedule some lessons! I hope to help you grow academically and achieve whatever goals you have.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
