##### About Brendon-Sage

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin and I share similar philosophies on the art of teaching. It is not simply enough to give someone information if they don't know what to do with it; rather, it is imperative to make the experience as immersive and personal as possible. That is what I aim to do as your tutor. I don't want you to remember what to write on a test, I want you to learn the subject so that you might be able to understand why it works and how it can be integrated in all of your other subjects of learning. As a result, I will find areas that you are weak in, and guide you through the steps to completing it. Gradually, the questions will become harder as I work to try to integrate many of the different concepts covered into a single multistep question. This will give you the tools to take a complicated question and divide it up into bits and pieces, making it a much simpler task.

I've always had a profound proficiency in maths. I began taking algebra 1 and 2 in middle school, and mastered the subjects in high school. In high school, I was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program, where I took courses in geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. In my senior year, I was 1 of 2 students to enroll in my school's highest level of mathematics, IB HL mathematics (I passed the IB exam as well). I then went on to Cornell University, where I mastered single variable calculus, and took courses in multivariable calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra. In my spare time, I teach myself mathematics courses offered for free by MIT (currently studying introduction to analysis). Basically, I have a very strong background in mathematics on personal performance basis.

My successes in mathematics have also allowed me to partake in assisting my peers in areas of struggle. Since high school, I have taken the liberty of helping out any friend who needed it, and engaged in structured tutoring sessions through my National Honor Society Program (high school). In college, I have been a frequent visitor to Teaching Assistant hours to get help on my own work, while also assisting those who are struggling more than me. As a result, I have had plenty of experiences helping and teaching students how to succeed in mathematics. I am particularly proud that all students under my instruction have gone on to produce results in the upper echelon of performance for the classes. I have taught ages from middle school (6th grade) up to college level students. If you require help in one of my listed courses I would be happy to serve you.

I look forward to working with you.
