Hello, my name is Michelle, and I went to school at Ithaca College, and State University of New York at Cortland. I have my Bachelor's in Health and Physical Education, and my Master's in Special Education. I was a Resource Room teacher grades K-8 in Arizona for the past two years. I have also been a tutor since July 2015 both online and in person, and I love it!

I have tutored health and physical education previously online, and all subjects in person. I enjoy tutoring health education because it was my favorite subject to learn about in High School and college, and I used to teach health education in the classroom setting. I also enjoy teaching math and test prep, and have seen my student's grades go up this past academic year.

I was a resource room teacher for two years focusing heavily on math. I have brought students who were more than one grade level below, up to almost grade level. I provide students with multiple resources to help them, such as flashcards and multiplication charts. I have a lot of patience, and know multiple ways to explain and teach concepts that make it easier for students to understand.

As a resource room teacher, I focused more than half my day on reading and writing. I am very patient, and helped my students to improve their reading fluency and comprehension over the past two years. My student's have made leaps in their curriculum, and jumped up multiple grade levels when they were below.

I helped a plethora of students the past two years with organization. Most of my students were transitioning to high school, and I helped them with using their daily planner/agenda books to organize their assignments. By color coding assignments or using tabs in binders, students were able to easily identify what work they had to complete and where it was in their binders, and have increased their grades in their general education classes because of the study skills we used in my classroom.

I was a Physical and Health Education teacher, and was also my college's nutrition club president. I have a passion for health education, and encourage my students to make healthy choices and stay active. I am very energetic and set a positive role model for my students.

I am a very patient and energetic tutor with a passion for helping students succeed! I look forward to the chance to work with you this summer and/or academic school year! Please don't hesitate to contact me, as I am very prompt with my responses. I look forward to hearing from you!
