Hello! My name is Gavin and I am a fourth-year Physics PhD student at Cornell University, specializing in particle physics research. I have two years of experience teaching college-level physics at Cornell, guiding undergraduate students through core subjects such as electromagnetism, classical mechanics, and introductory quantum mechanics in both classroom and lab settings. Prior to Cornell, I graduated with highest honors from UC Santa Barbara, earning a BS in physics with a 3.98 GPA. During my time at UCSB, I also worked for a year as a department-hired tutor, helping students with their homework in introductory and advanced physics courses.

My teaching experience at Cornell and years of studying advanced physics and math topics has shown me the value of building understanding and confidence through guided practice. I focus on helping students develop a strong foundation by encouraging active engagement with material and prioritizing core principles over rote memorization. This method has been key not only in my teaching but also in my own academic success, helping me master subjects ranging from introductory classical mechanics to advanced quantum field theory. My goal is to make learning physics and math more approachable while instilling the confidence students need to excel in their classes and exams.
