About Diane

I graduated New York Medical College in 1989 in the top 1% of my class and completed my residency at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. After completing fellowships in transfusion medicine, medical microbiology, and surgical pathology, I worked for Mainline Pathologists at Bryn Mawr, Lankenau, and Paoli Hospitals where I served as the blood bank director and a general pathologist (anatomic and clinical). I taught pathology to the second year medical students at Jefferson Medical College and was active teaching pathology residents training at Mainline Pathology.

I returned to Long Island to help care for a sick family member. Pathology positions were scarce so I retrained in Psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC. I transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for the fourth year to obtain intensive training in child psychiatry. After finishing the requirments to become board certified in psychiatry, I started working at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. After approximately 10 years, I retired from the VA to concentrate on private practice and teaching.
Throughout my career, I remained active in teaching and tutoring, earning many teaching awards.

Math and science were my most favorite subjects from an early age.
I received A's in Calculus I and II from SUNY at Albany and an A in Statistics from Stoney Brook.
I also received an A in algebra.
I excelled in science from an early age and frequently was number 1 in various science subjects, including medical microbiology, biology, physics, physiology and chemistry.
I greatly enjoy teaching and helping others achieve great success.

I am a NY State licensed physician who is board certified in Pathology (anatomic and clinical), Transfusion Medicine/blood banking and Psychiatry..
I am a member of the national honor society and graduated #3 in a class of 240 students. I received an award for excellence in Pathology which is given to the top student in the second year pathology class. I received honors in all of my science classes.

Throughout my life, I have enjoyed teaching numerous skills to others. I taught tennis to children in High School and tutored Math in junior and senior high school. In college, I tutored calculus, statistics, chemistry and biology .
In medical school, I tutored microbiology, pathology, anatomy, and pharmacology. I have also tutored statistics, epidemiology and calculus while completing a Master in Public Health at Columbia University School of Public Health.
As a physician, I have been actively teaching every year since graduation because I enjoy helping others achieve the success they are seeking in math and science.
