My name is Michelle and I am looking forward to working with you!

I have over 10 years of experience working as a professional instructor, tutor and ASL interpreter. My lessons specialize in ASL grammar, improving fingerspelling skills and interpreting music.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Sign Language

I was trained at an interpreter training program for ASL from 2004 to 2006. Since then, I have been a professional ASL interpreter, instructor and tutor.

I have taught at the college level and also at a local organization for over 6 years. I teach private lessons to new clients and former students; I tailor each lesson to the student's linguistic goals.

I specialize in teaching students ASL grammar, improving fingerspelling skills and interpreting music.

I have passed the first section of my national certification exam for RID and I am awaiting my testing date for the performance exam.
