I believe that learning mathematics is about understanding important concepts, not memorizing a bunch of formulas, and that obtaining the right answer is less important than trying to understand a problem and devising a method to solve it, even if that method isn't what the teacher is looking for.

Very knowledgable and thorough tutor

Steven helped my 12th grade son this past year prepare for his AP Calc exam. My son is an IB diploma candidate and therefore took IB HL last year and not Honors Pre-Calc as that was not part of the 2 year diploma program. He needed to take AP Calc anyway for his senior year because he applied (and was successful) in getting into a top arch. program for uni. Therefore, he missed an entire year of Pre-Calc and went into AP Calc! Steven was excellent in bridging gaps in material, patient with concepts my son had not seen before due to lack of Pre-C, and helped him get to the point of taking the AP Exam this week. My son said he felt prepared taking the exam after working with Steven once a week throughout the year. Steven was patient, professional, kind, and flexible with time (as my son has a varsity crew schedule as well), and allowed my son to succeed despite missing a year of PreC in prep for Calc. I highly recommend Steven to anyone. He can explain complex material very well and gave my son the confidence that he could do this. Thank you Steven for everything!!

Amazing Tutor

Steve has been my tutor for the past 4 years. I wouldn't have been able to pass all of my math classes without him. He always thoroughly reviews and goes over my lessons and any test or quizzes that I got back. Steve is the best and I highly recommend him!

Responsive, knowledgeable and patient.

Steven came to our house with only a day's notice to help my daughter through a tough AP Calculus AB portion that she was not understanding. She was frustrated and needed to turn in a test revision for the end of the quarter. She's a high school senior, so the stakes are high for college admission. Steven could not have been more responsive and helpful. We are so grateful!

Efficient, patient tutor!

I worked with Steven to prepare for the GRE on a very tight schedule. I only had about six weeks to prepare for the exam and Steven was extremely helpful. He was very attentive to the specific subjects and strategies I wanted to focus on. I highly recommend Steven for any math help, considering how helpful he was to me over such a short period of time, I can only imagine how great of a tutor he must be for students looking for long-term assistance.
