As a tutor I am very aware that no two students are alike. Therefore, I recognize that each student will have a different learning preference whether it is visual, auditory, or reading. To provide the best tutoring experience, I work to accommodate these preferences. I am also careful to identify gaps in a students understanding. It has been my experience that a student's lack of understanding current subject matter often results from a gap in fundamental knowledge. In this case it is critical to identify such a gap and to develop the fundamental understanding required. From that point on, building off of that foundation is much simpler. I believe that no student is unintelligent or incapable of learning even the most complicated subject matter. Tutoring must go beyond just teaching subjects by teaching students how to learn independently as well. I look forward to the opportunity to share in my students learning and their future accomplishments.

Jeffrey has analyzed and determined areas of weakness in my daughter's understanding of Algebra 1 and has created a lesson plan to address the issues.
Jeff is thorough, focused, and always prepared. He excels at delivering instruction in a way that is easy for my teenagers to follow, and he is great at identifying learning styles and leveraging the students' strengths and closing gaps in their basic knowledge. I highly recommend him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
