Bio

I'm currently a 4th year Chemistry major, and I will begin a PhD program this upcoming academic year. Over the past four years, I have spent time helping students with high school level chemistry, AP Chemistry, undergraduate level general chemistry, and organic chemistry. Moreover, I have been a teaching assistant for over two years, with four straight semesters of being a teaching assistant for organic chemistry. This includes being a Head Teaching Assistant this past year.

Tutoring is really rewarding. Students will struggle, but there is an amazing sense of accomplishment for both the student and tutor when everything begins to click together. Getting the chance to interact with students and help them succeed is really what tutoring is all about.

I have spent the last three years tutoring people in multiple chemistry levels, including high school level, and undergraduate general chemistry and organic chemistry. I have received an A in all of my chemistry courses up to this point, and I have been a teaching assistant for general chemistry and organic chemistry. Through all of these classes and being a teaching assistant, I have learned how students view the subject, and different ways they think. No student is the same, but I have done by best to make sure they are all satisfied.

Asking for help and hiring a tutor is not an easy task. Don't be afraid of being viewed in a negative light simply because you do not understand the subject; everyone is different. In the end, it is possible for everyone to receive the help they need. If you put in effort, I'll be willing to put just as much, or even more, effort into making sure you succeed. Feel free to contact me if you need some help!

Chemistry

I'm a college student who has received an A in General Chemistry, and received a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam back in high school. After taking the class in college, I was a teaching assistant, holding office hours multiple times a week, and helping many students the entire semester. This is accompanied tutoring other college students through both of their semesters, accumulating over 100 hours of tutoring.

excellent patient tutor

Helped my son understand an area of chemistry he was struggling with. He was patient and did not lecture, but was interactively teaching my son. He allowed time for questions.

Rising Organic Chem Teacher, Reliable and Thorough

I've had over 18 lessons with Nick and you can tell he loves teaching. He makes concise examples and answers follow up questions easily. He's great at explaining Organic Chem I and II concepts. He far exceeded my expectations for each lesson. As a fellow student, I feel like he can explain things in ways that make sense to other students. I think he should make YouTube videos or write a book on his Orgo knowledge, it would be a great help to students across the nation.

Detail oriented and patient!

Nicholas was great! He explained everything so well and was patient when I didn’t know the answer to something. He walked me through all the steps while also letting me do some problems on my own.

Teaching me organic chemistry

He’s currently crafting lesson plans for me each lesson. I was able to learn about alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes on the very first lesson. He went at my pace so I didn’t feel rushed and made things more challenging when he knew I could handle it. He also offers practice with an answer key which is super helpful.
