Bio

Since I started tutoring my classmates when I was a junior in high school, I have loved helping students off skill levels reach their full potential. Whether this means getting that perfect 1600 on the SAT, or simply passing that next test, every student deserves the chance to shine. In every subject I tutor, and with every student, I strive to allow them to understand things on their own terms and to pus them to work their brains and work through difficult problems on their own, with me...

Since I started tutoring my classmates when I was a junior in high school, I have loved helping students off skill levels reach their full potential. Whether this means getting that perfect 1600 on the SAT, or simply passing that next test, every student deserves the chance to shine. In every subject I tutor, and with every student, I strive to allow them to understand things on their own terms and to pus them to work their brains and work through difficult problems on their own, with me guiding them in the right direction when they make a mistake.

In the eight years since I started, I've worked to better my ability to teach students across topic and skill level. I have helped students struggling with ADHD, students looking to pass the regents on their third try, students looking to get a 5 on the AP, and students looking to get into the 99th percentile on the LSAT achieve their goals and realize their best mental selves.

In all my tutoring, I strive to work on critical reasoning skills alongside the topic that we're focusing on, as those skills are the most integral to success in every part of life, and make it more likely for students to make progress on their own. I bring this core drive to every session. In session, I rarely lecture, nor do I simply do example problems and hope the student picked up what I showed them. Most of my Social Science and English sessions focus on dialogue, debate, and argumentation, while most of my Math and Science sessions focus on working through problems together and letting the student attempt problems on their own while they explain their reasoning as to why they did each step, and me correcting or confirming their thoughts. Standardized test prep is a bit more of a structured affair, but even there, I focus on engendering the type of thinking each test is focused on, on top of test content and tips.

I look forward to helping you reach whatever goal you're looking to achieve.

SAT Reading

I have tutored students in SAT Reading in the past, and their scores have increased markedly each time. When I took the SAT, I scored a perfect 800 on the Reading section. Tutoring for the SAT is quite easy, mainly due to the nature of the test. Between rote memorization and learning the tricks that one needs to achieve high scores on this exam, I will be able to raise your, or your children's scores without a doubt.
