Saint Thomas Aquinas College (EDUCATION SECONDARY MATH)
I earned my teaching degree for secondary education in Math 7-12 at Saint Thomas Aquinas college in Sparkill, New York in 2001. I enjoy the subject and content of math and care to share that joy and understanding with those who do also wish to understand. I have been working with students from middle school to high school level since this time in the various subjects of math, from prealgebra to precalculus.
As I work with the student, I set out to understand the student's awareness and approach to the subject and I am then able to make the needed connections and requirements to help the student proceed with their progress. I have been able to help the student to better grasp an understanding of the math they are currently working on. I work to gain the student's focus, understanding and trust and then look to challenge the student's understanding and interest.
I support the student in all inquiries that they bring to the sessions so that their trust, personal satisfaction and degree of understanding are maintained. When the student walks away satisfied and happy, then so do I which is what I set out to accomplish.
Please look into my RESOURCES FILES to see if you might find some examples related to assisting you in your inquiry.

Thank you David... for installing the self confidence in my son. He is really focused on the sessions that he has with you. My son seems to enjoy learning the techniques you have provided in algebra 1.
David was great with my son very patient & took the time needed to explain things in detail & in its simplest form. I will definitely use him again.
According to Nakeya, she had a really great tutoring session last week. She really felt she was connecting and understanding the material much better. Thank you David.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
