Hello. I have happily been an educator for over 23 years in New York State. My areas of professionalism range from elementary to high school ages. Although, I have also tutored with college students and adults. Along with a degree in elementary education, I have a Masters in Special Education, a Middle School Extension and an Orton Gillingham certification. This does not include many courses taken within the fields of special education, Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, literacy and specific content areas. Tutoring experiences include all of those areas as well as test prep for regents, PSAT, SAT, GRE and ASVAB.
My experiences within the schools have been regular and special education within the elementary , middle and high school ages. Tutoring has varied from pre-school, to elementary, to middle school, to high school, to college and to adults. Within this diverse age range, I have taken on many areas. Homework help, common core math and reading as well as college essays are a few. Test preparation, GRE's and regents preparation are some other areas of instruction.
An element of importance that I bring to the table is confidence building. This is very essential and important for me to convey to my students. Any age will benefit greatly from positive acknowledgement and feeling strength from within. This goes a long way towards any goal.
My experience as a tutor goes almost 20 years. This experience has brought me knowledge and practice to bring in what is needed with a student in able to succeed. Also, my teaching experience, for over 20 years has brought me aware of learning styles and learning strategies that assist to future success. My ongoing professionalism continue to add to my previous knowledge in order to be successful with different learners and different ages.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Hello. I am a certified New York State Elementary teacher with a Masters in Special Education, grandfathered in, N through 12. I have been teaching in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District for the last 24 years.
I have been a teacher for over 25 years. For over ten of them, I was a sixth grade elementary teacher. Also, I tutor children all the time with their elementary math. I have just completed the fifth grade math tutoring with two students.
I have been teaching 24 plus years. My experiences cover elementary through high school. For the last 17 years, I have been a special needs elementary school teacher for summer school. I am Orton Gillingham certified.
This is my 24th year teaching in the Newburgh City Enlarged School District. This will be my 4th year teaching global studies and regents prep in the high school. This is to include prep classes after school, home schooling regents prep and proctoring the regents.
I have my Masters in Special Education from Suny New Paltz. Almost twenty years of experience teaching special needs learners too. Hundreds of credits come along with this. My classroom experience of special needs learners include elementary, middle school and high school student to this day.
My 20-plus years of teaching brings great quantities of knowledge and experience. Being a teacher of special education, regular and special needs elementary, special needs middle school and special needs high school applies to this experience and knowledge. Along with my Masters in Special Education, a BS in Athletic Administration, a minor in management and my Elementary Teaching Certification builds quite a foundation. Over 300 credits of professional development are under my belt also.
