Hi! My name is Kevin and I am a collegiate student pursuing a degree in Bio Medical Engineering from Hofstra University. I currently am taking classes and am excited to have the opportunity to work with you guys to help you meet with academic success. I have been tutoring since I was in middle school, with students who were my age and younger, and have a solid background in the main subjects that are taught from K-12. As an AP student throughout high school I quickly learned about a variety of academic pursuits in depth and was a member of multiple clubs that helped sharpen my understanding.

Outside of my understanding of topics I have been tutoring and working with students for a very long time and I know that each individual has a different approach to learning. I will be able to quickly identify how you learn best and conduct our sessions in a manner that will help you grasp the information and retain it. In the past I have worked with all ages and with a large variety of capabilities from AP students to children with Autism and Down Syndrome. As someone who was just recently in the shoes of many of you students I have an up-to-the-date grasp on what is expected in today's academic environment and how to meet with success both in and outside of the classroom. My hope is that we can work together in order to meet and then exceed your academic goals and I look forward to doing so!

My specialties include ACT Math, having received a score in the top 99th percentile twice while taking the test, scoring a 33 on both Math Sections. Beyond the ACT I was an AP mathematics student and was a three time Gold Medal Winner at the Long Island Al Kafus Math Fair for independent study in mathematics. I have taken Math courses throughout high school and on the collegiate level and am well versed in a variety of mathematical pursuits taught throughout high school.

As a student studying Bioengineering there is an expectation and requirement for me to be well learned in all sciences, particularly Biology and Anatomy. I have taken all major science courses as well as AP classes within the sciences while attending high school. Biology and Anatomy are at the forefront of my learning and are the two sciences that I have the best grasp on, having taken multiple high level Biologies as well as Anatomy & Physiology and Sports Medicine. I also have conducted research within the field at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research at North Shore Manhasset, working particularly in the Orthopedic research lab. There I was able to hone my understanding of the human body and how each specific area of that body interacts with each other and with foreign objects.

English has always been a personal favorite subject of mine, and although it is not my current major I have always had a firm background in Literature and Composition. As a high school student I was an AP English student who read a plethora of literature both in the classroom and on his own. When I attended college I was published in my school's magazine for outstanding essay writing and have taken both American and British Literature. English has always been one of my favorite subjects and because of that I have a great understanding of writers from the Anglo-Saxon era through today.

I really hope that we can meet together and work on a strategy to meet with success. It is my hope that you give me a chance and I am sure that you will not regret it!

Special Needs

Special Needs

Special Needs

I have worked through two different state funded companies, SKIP of New York and Independent Support Services. These two companies are to help the disabled and I worked one on one with a severely autistic boy for three years and a man with down syndrome for an additional three. I had to go through extensive training at both companies and have had nothing but professionalism while working with individuals with special needs.

Sports/Recreation

Golf,

Golf

I started golfing when I was about six years old and it quickly became a favorite personal sport of mine. I have played for years now and have been around the sport on a personal level for the last seven years as a caddie. Through caddying and playing I have an expert grasp on the game, and what is expected for players to succeed at it. I can identify issues with strokes and help to improve those issues without completely reconstructing their swing.
Lacrosse,

Lacrosse

I have played lacrosse since I was in first grade. Having been exposed to every position in the game, my career was both through the schools I attended as well as outside teams. In high school I was a three season Varsity starter playing defensive "middie" and then transitioning to attack my senior year. My senior year I was a starter who had a very successful season and helped lead my team to the Nassau County semi-finals for the first time in over five years.
Swimming

Swimming

Swimming has been a sport that my family and I were raised on. Starting at the young age of three I swam competitively for sixteen years before going to college, where I still swim for personal workouts. At my high school I helped develop our schools first ever male swim team where I received the MVP award as well as county honors for two different events. Beyond the school team I swam for a CYO team that won the Catholic CYO championship for a staggering eight years in a row. I have taught children how to swim before both as a coach and a lifeguard.
