I truly enjoyed my lesson with Sepideh. As an absolute beginner, we were able to jump right into the lesson and begin learning the essential foundations of the Farsi language. In one hour we were able to cover material that in other language classes may take a month to review! Sepideh came prepared with plenty of resources & examples for me to review and take home, offered lots of encouragement, responds quickly to emails, and was patient and supportive of my learning process. All in all, I am very excited to continue my study of Farsi!
Sepideh could not have been nicer or more fun to learn from. She was early, she has a wonderful sense of humor and purpose, she made lesson #1 extremely comfortable and worth every moment.
Sepideh came prepared with handouts she had made covering the Persian alphabet and introductory vocab. She was very helpful with pronunciation and very clear in explaining the writing. I'm looking forward to more lessons with her!
I have only been meeting with Sepideh for about 2 months now but I feel that even within this short time my Farsi skills have improved a great deal. She is a very caring, patient, and knowledgeable tutor. She is also very flexible and is very much willing to tailor your tutoring sessions to your individual needs. I for example want to focus more on my speaking skills, and she is very much able to gear our classes towards that. I truly enjoy my lessons with her and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a Farsi tutor in New York City.
I've been meeting with Sepideh for the past few months and she is an amazing tutor -- one of the best I've ever had.
I am a nervous learner, meaning that in any session with me there will be awkward silences as my brain tries to overcome the trepidation I feel actually speaking a foreign language out loud. I've had many tutors who step in and try to fill the space, which is distracting. Sepideh allows these silences, which allows me to learn.
She is patient, our sessions are conducted nearly entirely in Farsi, she only switches to English when absolutely necessary. She is a joy to work with and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am native Farsi speaker, I can fluently speak and write in Farsi. I was born and raised in Tehran-Iran and I have my high school diploma and some college courses in Iran . I took 12 credits in Farsi literature courses when I was in Iran. I know how to teach Farsi step by step, write and read in Farsi (this includes grammar, slangs and pronunciations). I have tutored several people in Farsi so far and I am currently teaching Farsi to American-Iranian who was born in America and they wanted to learn Farsi.
I have a lot of experience with Microsoft Windows and my knowledge started with early days of Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows 98, Me, 2000, Vista, 7 and 8. I know every detail and trick of all these operating systems, from basic functions as copying and pasting a file, to creating new folders, to working with Microsoft Office and Windows Moviemaker.
