Liaoning University (Teaching Chinese)
University of Florida (Master's)
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at Liaoning University and I got my Master's Degree from University of Florida in ESOL. As an experienced classroom teacher, I have developed a passion and personal commitment to help my students succeed. In most of my teaching positions at an international primary school and a Chinese school, I developed highly effective lesson plans, motivational exercises, and performance assessments. I've helped improve test scores, and have received positive feedback from parents and fellow educators alike for my abilities in the classroom. My teaching style demonstrates dedication to foster a positive learning environment to all students and to maximize individual student performance.
For my younger students, I usually choose the game-centered method to help them to learn. I design and bring various games and activities to the class in order to increase their engagement in the class. I always believe that TPR (total physical response) is always effective for students at a younger age to learn a new language. Therefore, I let them sing, dance, role-play with me. Take role-play as an example, acting out the story will help students immerse themselves in the language world so that they learn new stuff quickly and naturally. The most important thing is that they will never feel bored in the class. What's more, in order to provide more comprehensible input for my students , I tried to make adaptations to make the content of the book more interesting. I provide pictures of vocabulary and find videos such as cartoons to help students to understand the content. What's more, I also use exaggerate facial expression and gesture to draw their attention and make learning a foreign language become a fun process.
For my adult students, I also incorporate various activities to the class in order to make learning Chinese become a fun journey instead of a boring routine. Except teaching the language itself, I also will bring some interesting cultural facts or stories to the class. My students always enjoy it!
I am confident that my background and relevant experience will help my students to achieve their language goals. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the study plan further. Thank you for your time and attention! Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
