For the past three years I have been employed by the Collegiate Science Technology Program (CSTEP) at Fordham University to serve as both a counselor as well as a tutor during the fall and the spring. Having to do this on top of my undergraduate coursework as well as completing patient volunteer hours at the NYU Bellevue Hospital for my application to Physician's Assistant School was not a simple task, and required me to be very organized. But as I matured, it became more manageable and almost second nature. With three years of experience under my belt tutoring students in algebra 1 and biology, I believe I can help any high school student be successful in those subject areas.

From past experience, I have gotten much positive feedback from appreciative STEP students who have complimented me on my ability to communicate, slow down, and help them comprehend the material as we are going through the material. I completely understand what it feels like to not understand a subject material in school and it can get frustrating quite quickly as I have had my own share of such experiences. My job is to help high school students not have to go through that kind of misery and to excel in their coursework. When tutoring I very much like to use the blackboard if available so that I can put the confusing algebra problem or biology concept on the big board for them to see and examine as I slow down and explain it to them. This tends to work with my students as we dissect a confusing problem down to bits and they are able to see every second of it. I also like to give quizzes and timed problem worksheets so when it comes time for the real exam they become experts at working under pressure when time is limited.

Very patient

I met with Randolph in order for him to teach me before my SAT exam. He was very patient and explained everything to me several times until I fully understood. He came prepared and even brought me homework to exercise on what we learned.

Great Tutor

Randy is very knowledgeable and patient. When I don't understand something, he reviews it several times until he is sure I fully comprehend the material. I am feeling more confident in Algebra thanks to him.
