About Shelley

Bio

I grew up loving books and literature. I could always be found in my local library scouring the shelves looking for anything I could get my hands on. If I wasn't reading, I was watching a history documentary. From a young age, I forged a love for learning. This led to the pursuit of a degree in English literature and history from SUNY Brockport. With this degree, I plan on one day working as a librarian, but for now, I wish to use this degree to help others share my love for learning.

My younger brother started his years in middle school hating extracurricular reading, doing everything he could to avoid my various book recommendations and history related discussions. Today, he is graduating high school with plans to pursue a career as an English teacher. I hope to instill the same love for literature and education in others as I did my brother.

While at SUNY Brockport, I was a dual major in both English and history. I was also asked to present some of my history research at their annual Scholar's Day. This day is reserved for students to present their work to the entire student body, however, they can only do so if they are nominated by a professor. I also was inducted into the international English honors society, Sigma Tau Delta, as recognition of my hard work as an English student. I hope to be able to use my skills and knowledge to help other students and encourage them to find a love for learning.

I consistently performed well in all of my English classes in college. I also am a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honors society. I have a love for books, the written word, and the exploratory nature of literature.

I was nominated by my American History professor to present my original research on the Salem Witch Trials at SUNY Brockport's annual Scholar's Day.

I encourage those of you to feel free to send me an email to schedule lessons. I have a part-time job, however, I can be rather flexible.
