With over 8 years of experience, I bring an animated, engaging teaching style that motivates the learner.

I am Certified by the State of New York for grades 1 through 6, and have also taught at the secondary level as a substitute for the many school districts located here in Western New York.

Learning should be a fun experience. For each lesson I make sure the student learns in a stress-free, student centered environment.

Lastly, I wish to point out strong experience with diverse groups, and those students where English is their Second Language. To meet the challenge of the student where English is not their native language, I design lessons targeted to their area of understanding based on their background.

I have been fortunate enough to teach students from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cambodia, Liberia, Somalia, Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey, while working for one of the school districts here in Western New York. This experience with such diverse backgrounds now allows me to be able to focus lessons on each individuals' background. The most important aspect of teaching those whose second language is English is being able to pace the lesson to their needs. Having this experience with these students has made me an effective teacher and the student learns at their pace without language becoming a stumbling block.

I am certified/licensed by the State of New York to teach elementary grades, 1 through 6. I have a Masters degree in this field of education, and just as important, besides being Highly Qualified by the school district I worked for, my degree emphasized Math, Science, and Technology, areas of great concern to students. I can provide the document that states I am Highly Qualified if ever needed for examination. Though certified at the elementary level, I have experience with those at secondary levels while teaching at various districts throughout our geographical area. I am especially sensitive to those students from diverse backgrounds. I am originally from the largest city in the United States and having grown up in such a cosmopolitan, diverse population, my students easily connect with me during lesson time. That is why I became a teacher!!
