Hello! I'm Mimi and I am a New York State certified high school English teacher. I currently teach English 9, English 10, and English 12 Dual Credit (College Writing 1 through SUNY Broome and Academic Writing II through TC3) at a local public high school. I also have several years of experience teaching and tutoring private and public high school students and college level English. I have also developed and have been teaching a College Admissions Essay Writing class for the past five years. I've also taught SAT Reading and Writing and Creative writing classes for the past five summers. I've successfully tutored high school students in SAT Reading and Writing, college admissions essay writing, creative writing, AP English, college writing, and more! I also worked as a summer school teacher at the Greater Binghamton Health Center for inpatient adolescents.
My passion is teaching and I love waking up to teach everyday! Watching my students progress over the years is one of my greatest joys. I graduated from SUNY Binghamton with my Master's degree in Teaching Adolescent English grades 7-12 and my bachelor's in English Literature.
Outside of teaching, you can find me at home with our family dog--a parti yorkie named Mitchell, or hanging out with my two teenage daughters. I love to travel to experience different cultures and try new foods. Our favorite place to be is Disney World. I hope we can work together to help you become confident and successful in your writing and reading skills.
