Fordham University (Political Science)
My name is Juan. I received my BA from Fordham University in Political Science and Spanish Studies. In addition, I have my masters in Education from Mercy College. During my time in college, I was the Spanish tutor for the student body as well as student athletes. In my professional career, I taught Math, Science, Social Studies and ELA for five years in the NYC DOE as well as taught in different special education settings. That experience has equipped me with the knowledge to assess and design curriculums specialized to each student's needs. I have tutored students from 3rd to 8th Grade in Math and ELA. As for Spanish, I am a certified medical interpreter from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's MIT program and have prepared students to take the Spanish regents to taking exams on the collegiate level. I have tutored students for over 8 years. Feel free to ask me anything. I look forward from hearing from you! Hello,

Friday is Jake's last lesson thanks to Juan. He is so focused in class and understands his homework. Thanks for getting him to where he is. He was very patient and always encouraged Jake. He is a great guy and the best tutor Jake has ever had. THANKS Juan!
Very good tutor, professional, and knowledgable. He has a good rapport with my son.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
