About Linda

Bio

I'm a former New York City teacher with a love for teaching. I enjoy being creative in lesson plans utilizing Gardner's theory of learning styles. I use a mutildisciplanry approach to teaching. Seeing the "light bulb" go on in a student's face... that is what makes teaching so great.

Finding out what the students interests are allows me to find the right materials to teach. I taught Elementary Education for 12 years in New York City.

Study Skills

As a teacher in New York City for 12 years, I had to design new and different study skills for my students. Each student had their own special strengths and areas needed for improvement. Using the study skills I developed helped my students improve their grades. I used Gardner's Theory of Learning styles to determine the best way to teach study skills. If the student was an auditory learner, I would have the student record him/herself so that they can playback their notes. If the student was kinesthetic, I would incorporate manipulatives to help them learn how to study.
