I believe that education is the key to success for young students. As a teacher, I hope to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities and discovering that each of them can succeed given the right tools. It is through small group and one to one tutoring that students are really able to develop the skills needed in today’s schools.
Through my teaching experience thus far, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will also become more confident in their abilities. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions while fostering confidence in order for them to realize their full potential.
I have had the opportunity to work in various and unique settings throughout my educational career. In each of these settings, the students I worked with had experienced educational failure to some degree. It was my job first and foremost to convince the students that with the proper techniques, the right teacher and the right attitude they too could find success in school. It was with each of these small gains that their confidence began to rebuild itself and with that in turn their grades. I believe I am the candidate to provide you or your child with the same level of success.
I appreciate your time and consideration in becoming your tutor. My education, credentials, experience, and enthusiasm for quality work would be a positive addition to your educational team. I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss the possibility of a position with you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
