I have been an Arts & Crafts Director at Summer Camps in New England, and have been a private tutor of drawing and painting for students ranging in age from seven to nineteen.
I have graduate coursework in Elementary Education , with a concentration in Reading. I have tutored ESL students in English, and have worked with students to develop confidence in speaking in front of their class, on various subjects.
I have been the only tutor employed by the Cornwall Central School District, to successfully work in a student's home, enabling the student to complete a high school studio art requirement and an art history segment for graduation.
I have helped with many school projects, when a student needs additional help and motivation.
There is a local synagogue, which has its bar and bar mitzvah students complete a " Wimpel", which tells a personal story through pictures and Hebrew words, painted on a long piece of muslin. It can be time consuming therefore difficult for a parent and child to find time to do together . I have been hired to do this with the child, and have made it an enjoyable experience.
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy in effect. Please give more than 24 hour notice, to avoid paying for the lesson if you need to cancel.
Make-up lessons are possible options for a missed class.
Lessons are $55 for one hour for a private drawing lesson, and $65 for 1 1/2 hours for a private painting lesson ( set up and clean up time incl.). Help with projects, follow these guidelines and prices are based on time above.
* All art supplies, materials are additional, and will be purchased by the student.

I excelled at public speaking in college. Upon graduation, I then trained real estate sales professionals. Part of their training included giving sales/ listing presentations.
My undergraduate work, was at the Univerdity of Miami and at the College of Mt. St. Vincent. I was a fine art major at both schools (B.A. was in fine art, with a minor in psychology). I was a student at the Arts Students League in NYC.

A new "winter 2016" rate is now in effect, through April of 2016! Students who enroll prior to April 2016, will be able to lock into that rate through the end of 2016.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a Dean's List fine art student and earned a B.A. Degree In fine art from the College of Mt. St. Vincent.
I was the Arts & Crafts Director for two years at Camp Leonard Leonore in Massachusetts.
I was the home tutor in studio art and art history, working with s high school student with Asperger's, for the Cornwall Central School District in Cornwall, New York.
I have tutored privately in conversational English. My students chose subjects of interest, which provided motivation and relevance. My students included adults, who were in business and interested in being able to converse with their customers.

I have been employed as a sales manager for Century 21, where I held weekly sales meetings, in addition to training sessions on salesmanship.
In addition, I was the Sales Manager for Macy's/Bambedger's, where I held weekly sales meetings for a department of 50-60 sales people. I did training sessions on various topics, including skincare and makeup, in addition to how to build a sale.
I taught a class, in how to overcome nervousness, and be more confident, when giving a speech or a classroom presentation.
As a student, I won several regional spelling bees. Later on in graduate school, my concentration was in vocabulary, and reading. I was a substitute teacher in grades K-4, and held spelling bees in class. Tips and clues for remembering the spelling of words, were often shared with my students.
At the University of Miami, where I was in attendance for three years, I had two majors, fine art and theatre.
I took approximately 18 credits in theatre. It included acting courses, and stage makeup.
II held parts in about six plays, of which four were musicals.
I did extremely well in my SAT vocabulary. It has always been a goal of mine to increase my vocabulary in whatever way I can. I enjoy doing word puzzles regularly. In the past, I tutored/tested students in vocabulary for the SAT.
