I have experience doing internships while an undergraduate in China. I founded the Campus English Corner and I was honored as a host for 4 years. I worked in the Bureau of Finance to distribute newspapers to each mailbox and proofread text. I taught geography in high school - 12 classes each week - and acted as head teacher for one semester. I was a librarian volunteer that helped people find the books they wanted on the computers and located it on right shelf. Those experiences strengthened my communication skills and show I will be a good and hard-working volunteer for your conference.
I am fluent in written and oral in both English and Chinese. I got my master's degree in the USA. Recently one cool project I have is done is I turn passion into reality. I believe there is a relationship between food and homesickness among international students in a geographical context. I have done hundreds of interviews to gather the data I need and find out the right way to run the analysis. I use both quantitative and qualitative methods to get the whole picture. I aim to prove how food is important for international students as an emotional reliever. This is also a good example of transient geographies which has not been paid too much attention in the geography field. I have been a private tutor for four years as undergraduate student. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
