South Bank University London UK (Primary Education B.Ed)
I certified in the UK as an elementary school teacher after completing a B.Ed. at South Bank University London. I have 15 years of teaching experience as well as tutoring ELA on a one to one basis. I also have the TEFL certification and enjoy teaching English to students of all ages. I am proficient in developing unique programs of work using my creative skills and original ideas for students of different ability levels. I believe in making learning fun.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching as it gives me fulfillment and a sense I am making a difference in a student's life. I am cheerful, enthusiastic and positive. I convey this into my teaching by creating positive relationships through communication, trust and respect with students and parents.
I specialize in tutoring reading, writing, reading comprehension, grammar and spelling. I incorporate different types of activities in my tutoring so the student is always learning in different ways.
I take spellings from the students work so they are learning spellings that are relevant to them at their level. I am always challenging them.
Homework is always given and reviewed at the beginning of each session.
I am generally available Mon - Fri 2pm - 8pm. I offer a free consultation meeting before any tutoring starts. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
