Stony Brook University (Biology)
Teaching is proactive. It requires engaging the student and helping he or she inquire about the subject in question. My tutoring strategies change from one student to the next depending on the student’s needs. I have always enjoyed tutoring because for every student I have tutored thus far, I have witnessed a boost in confidence and improvement not only in the area targeted but in all subject areas. I am a strong believer that everyone is capable of achieving the goals that they set and a tutor or teacher’s role is to guide the students to meet their goals and exceed their expectations. I commit to doing just that for every student.
I have a bachelor in Science. I have worked in molecular biology for over 4 years. My areas of expertise are biology, chemistry and math. I speak 3 languages: French, English and Haitian Creole. My proficiency in Spanish is at the intermediate level. I specialize in tutoring biology, chemistry, math, SAT, NYS regents, TESOL.
I try to be flexible with time. I am willing to travel to meet a student to ensure a comfortable study space. I have a 24 hr. cancellation policy.
I look forward to hearing from you and help you in being successful at achieving your goals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BS in science with an emphasis in genetics from Stony Brook University. I have worked in molecular biology for 7 years in research. I am currently teaching biology at many different levels from high school to college.
I am currently teaching at two districts in NY and preparing the students for living environment, chemistry, algebra, physics. I had great success with the group of students who were struggling with the Regents in January of 2014. I was requested to work with the students who have to take the Regents in June 2014. I have a great rapport with the district that I work for along with the students and look to help may more accomplish their goal of passing the Regents.
