Hello Potential Students and Parents,
We don't know each other yet so let me introduce myself to you. My name is Jane. Although I hold a bachelor's degree in English Literature and a master's and doctorate in Italian, I feel comfortable with your addressing me as Jane, rather than as Doctor or Professor. I do not want to be an authority figure for my students or for anyone else. My students and I will be equally involved together in a learning experience. I listen to my students and learn from them just as they listen and learn from me. We will be working together as partners in a dynamic learning process.
We will learn about the written and spoken language of the student's choice (English or Italian) through reading (silently and aloud to each other) and through writing; through dialogue and exercise. The acquisition and understanding of new vocabulary and grammar will be incorporated into our study but will not be the main focus of our work. Our work will be to discover unknown skills and to enjoy language learning!
I'm looking forward to meeting you and working with you ! Hello Potential Students and Parents,

I am so pleased to have met Jane T. I know I will learn a lot from her and progress in my desire to be more conversational in Italian and to become more facile in using complex tenses. I like the way she teaches, by combining grammar, conversation, and reading to improve one's ability in speaking Italian. But more than that, in her generous manner and her love for the language, she reveals its lyricism and beauty. She is very nice, patient and knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone. She is an excellent tutor.
The second lesson with Jane T. was just as great as the first. We converse, we discuss grammar, we read. The lesson flies by and I am learning so much. It'a amazing. She's a wonderful teacher.
Lessons continue to be excellent. Jane T. is a great teacher.
All my lessons with Jane T. are wonderful. I learn something new each time.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
