Hello! I hope to hear from you!

* teaching math at a college (which I do currently)

* running an after school math enrichment program at an elementary school

I have a lot of experience, and along the way I've noticed a lot of common mistakes or misconceptions or roadblocks that I can identify to help guide students. There are no stupid questions! You can always interrupt me or ask me to clarify or explain again. I am very patient.

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

I have tutored Discrete Math for several years. In addition, I have taught a variety of proofs-based courses at the university level (including "Introduction to Proofs," "Abstract Algebra," "Modern Geometry," and "Complex Analysis").
Finite Math,

Finite Math

In my experience, "finite math" is a bit of a hodge podge that different schools use to mean "anything but calculus" but at a level that is at or maybe even below the difficulty of calculus. So it can include snippets of linear algebra; snippets of proofs; often times combinatorics. I have a PhD in math; I teach math at a college; I have taught most of the undergraduate courses we offer, including Abstract Algebra (NOT basic high school algebra), Complex Variables, Proofs, Modern Geometry. So while "finite math" may refer to slightly different course content depending on the school, I can definitely tutor it.

Amazing teacher who is extremely helpful and patien

Emily presented linear algebra in a way that makes a lot of sense to me. She is very kind and patient when it comes to the material. I have learned a lot from her and can’t wait to learn more from her.

Emily was a pleasure to work with. She helped my son with his HS Calculus after falling behind with virtual learning. The 1 on 1 with Emily put him right back on track.

So engaging and helpful!!

I've had two lessons with Emily for my multivariable calculus class, and it's been hard to learn the material in class because of shortened class times this year. Both times, Emily's been able to go over the material with me effectively, and I've left both sessions feeling a lot better about the material. On top of being a great instructor, she's patient and very engaging, and I enjoy my lessons with her a lot!

Prepared, kind, and knowledgeable

Emily helped me with the application of linear algebra concepts to a biostatistics class I am taking for my PhD program. She reviewed my questions ahead of time and was super prepared and excited to help bridge the gaps in my knowledge on the topics. Super kind and gracious. Highly recommend!
