About Matthew

Hi my name is Matt and I am an undergraduate Physics student at the University at Buffalo. I will be graduating in 2017 and will continue on to graduate school to continue my studies in physics. After my completion of graduate school I will pursue becoming a research professor at a top tier university. I have been tutoring friends since high school since I was the one to always understand the Science and Math classes. This continued on to college where I often participate in study groups to help other students understand the subject. I have a strong understanding in Algebra, Trigonometry, Kinematics, Classical physics,Electricity and Magnetism, Quantum Mechanics, Particle Physics , Calculus, Differential equations, and Linear Algebra. I currently participate in research involving theoretical and experimental high energy physics which involves the use of computer programming. I am capable of tutoring intro level courses which involve python and java. I am also able to help with classes which involve the use of the mathematica software which I happen to be fluent in. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I am currently tutoring an Algebra 1 student and his grades have increased from 50 to 85.

95+ in Algebra 1 and 2 in high school.

Physics

I am currently a physics student at the University at Buffalo entering my senior year. I had just received a letter grade of an A (UB only goes up to A) in my class of Intermediate mechanics 2. This is a class which mostly focuses on things such as, velocities, acceleration, the rotational side of things, and goes in depth to points of special relativity. I had also received a B+ in Quantum Physics 2 which would of been an A if I had not had a miss hap on exam 1

Great Tutor And Mentor!

Matthew is very patient. last year my son was failing math and Matt helped bring his grade up to a B and he passed the algebra exam! Matt continued to tutor him through the summer to get ahead start on geometry and my son has had over a 90 average! Now the focus on studying for exam and then on to trig and SAT PREP! He tutors remotely using Wyzant technology ! thanks Matt for agreeing to that and
