I earned my second bachelor's in French Language and Literature from Buffalo State College. (My first bachelor's was in Urban Studies from Bryn Mawr College.) I received a near perfect grade of 941 out of 990 on the Test de francais international. A score of 500 was required to enroll in university classes in Quebec. My score indicates that I have "professional level competence in French." This test was administered at the end of the nine months I spent studying French and economics in an entirely francophone region of Quebec, Canada. I really like the creative process of using language and creating meaning. I want to give my students plenty of opportunity to use French creatively and as an educational tool, to learn about francophone perspectives and the world around them.

Very Good Teacher

Karen is a very good teacher. She seems naturally talented at it. I learned a lot in just the first lesson.
