HTML is fun programming language to learn. Unlike other programming languages such as C++, COBOL, and Visual Basic, HTML is relatively easy to learn and you will be capable doing so much with it. I've been interested in programming and designing websites for many years, and now I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to pass on some of my knowledge to other aspiring individuals interested in writing web pages and content as well.
Learning HTML is not as hard as it sounds once you understand the basic concepts. All you need to begin writing a webpage is a computer, a plain text editor (Notepad or Text Edit will do just fine), and a web browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox). I will do my best to show you the initial concepts and will go over several of my website designs and projects explaining step-by-step the process of writing the code and what each line of code means. I understand how difficult it is learn new things, especially programming, and will gladly work with you at your own pace moving on only when you feel comfortable with the previous lesson.
The first lesson will consist of an overview and a showcase along with an explanation of the websites I have designed and programmed myself. I will walk you through some of them step by step, guiding you on how I made each one. This lesson will hopefully whet your appetite for HTML further and you will be ready to begin diving into coding a simple HTML webpage in lesson 2.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have designed and developed several personal websites including http://www.kennethheximer.com, http://www.weirdscience.net, and http://www.evenstevensonline.com. I have also developed and been in charge of maintaining a professional website for 1 year until the company closed and went out of business. You can see this website at www.kennethheximer.com/demos.
In addition, I am enrolled in the web page design certificate program at Erie Community College in Orchard Park, NY. Through this program I am gaining the industry skills I will need to professionally design web pages and website for businesses using the industry standard Adobe Creative Suite software package to design, lay out, and develop the web page.
In summary, I have plenty of experience in designing web pages and am continuing my education in the field to further my career in the subject.
