Composition (Music)

I have been playing piano for years and can help you come up with more interesting chord progressions and melodies. I am a songwriter and producer so I can also help you arrange tracks in any DAW like Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, or GarageBand. Whether it is building music in a DAW or on sheet music, I'm here to help in any way I can!

Music Production

I began producing music when I was 15yrs old with Logic Pro X. I went to Berklee and studied it deeper and got into many aspects of music technology. I am capable of teaching Logic Pro X, Ableton 11, and Pro Tools along with production and mixing/mastering techniques that are universal in all DAWs. I love sampling and making sample packs, recording/editing vocals with pitch correction software such as melodyne, field recording with my Zoom H4n Pro, beatmaking, and finger drumming. My inspirations are: Bill Evans, John Mayer, Robert Glasper, Kiefer, Diana Krall, Barry Harris, Frank Ocean, Anderson .Paak, Daniel Caesar, Kenny Beats, Quincy Jones, Alicia Keys, The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, JOJI, and H.E.R.

Piano

I've been playing piano since the age of 5. I grew up classically trained, performing in venues such as The Kennedy Center, Strathemore Mansion, and Carnegie Hall. Since then, I've learned contemporary genres by ear, and received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, where I studied Electronic Production & Design and graduated Magna Cum Laude. My audition piece for Berklee was "Spain" by Chick Corea and I performed Chopin's "Winter Wind" Etude at Carnegie Hall.

Ear Training,

Ear Training

After years of classical piano lessons, I began playing pop music and reading the sheet music. To save money buying sheet music, I began trying to learn the songs by ear. I would shuffle songs on Pandora radio and play all of them on piano, transcribing the melody and all of the chords. When I attended Berklee, I tested into the highest level of Ear Training (4) and Harmony (4). I also tested out of both levels of Tonal Harmony (classical theory).
General Music,

General Music

I have been involved in music since I was 5 years old, taking classical piano lessons. I then began learning music that I found interesting such as pop, R&B, jazz, funk, blues, soul, and more! I have knowledge in many different aspects of music and can play many different genres. When I attended Berklee, I tested out of both levels of Tonal Harmony (classical theory).
Guitar,

Guitar

I have been playing guitar since 13 years old. I'm comfortable in teaching people chord progressions and strumming patterns to go along. I know and can teach major/minor triads, 7ths chords (with tensions), and scales.

Songwriting

I've been writing songs since I was in high school and going to Berklee summer camps (songwriting camp and 5-week). I took some classes with Pat Pattison, read his lyric writing book, and also took a few Berklee classes like "Writing Hit Songs" and "Lyric Writing 2". I have a lot of experience in coming up with interesting chord progressions and melodies from playing instruments like piano and guitar. I can also help you produce your own songs/demos in DAWs like Logic, Ableton, GarageBand, or Pro Tools.

Super knowledgeable and skilled

Pat is mad cool and knows his stuff. I aspire to be able to play the way he does. I know I’ll be linking with him again.

Knows all the stuff!

This is a widely knowledgeable teacher! Any question I had, he was able to answer, and it was a super eye opening lesson. I learned a bunch about sound design and synths and how it all works—can’t wait to continue learning with Patrick!
