I'm Rachel! I am an established music director, accompanist, teacher and vocal coach in NYC, mostly in the musical theater and cabaret scenes. I have worked all over the world and play around 15 musical instruments professionally, so I'm a very well-rounded musician. Besides having a degree in Music from the University of Chicago, I also have my degree in Russian & have studied several other languages (Spanish, Turkish & Italian), as well as taken many general linguistic classes.
With my extensive music background, I have become a strong vocal coach, as well as a tutor in other aspects of music. As for ESL, having grown up in the melting pot of Brooklyn, NY in a well-spoken household of grammarians, plus having worked with people from all over the world, I have helped many people who have come to me to help them with their English - pronunciation, grammar, etc. It has always been very fulfilling for me to help people in any of these subjects, and exciting to see the progress they make! In both fields, I am very detail-oriented, am easy to work with and have a good sense of humor!
I look forward to helping more students either learn from scratch or improve upon what they already know, and am happy to answer any questions that you may have. I am easy to reach and will always respond very quickly. Feel free to contact me and I hope to schedule lessons with any of you soon!
