Teaching language is much more than explaining the meaning and the use of words and sentences. To know the language, one needs to know the culture. As an anthropology instructor and a bilingual Arabic/English speaker who lived in both Egypt and NYC, I am keen on giving culturally-informed language lessons. Learning about my students helps me make Arabic language lessons relevant to their everyday experience. I use flipped-classroom methods, which involve interactive activities that are tailored to each student, in order to elicit responses that help them not only understand the language with their minds but also get a "feel" of it through their senses.

I combine my current experience as an instructor of anthropology at Queens College with my past experience tutoring international students in Arabic in Cairo to offer a rigorous yet exciting pedagogical interaction online or in-person. I have a certificate in online teaching and four years of college teaching experience.

I have four years of experience teaching anthropology to undergraduate college students. I have tutored international students in Cairo for five years.

If you have any questions or would like to get a free ten-minute trial/conversation to test out whether we'd be a good fit, feel free to contact me! I am looking forward to teaching you Arabic in the way that is best suited for your needs.
