I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in mathematics. I have taught and tutored many college-level mathematics classes including pre-algebra, college algebra, pre-calculus, calculus 1, calculus 2, finite mathematics, axiomatic geometry, elementary education, secondary education, and quantitative reasoning. What I love about teaching and tutoring is helping my students gain deep understanding of mathematical concepts and seeing the connections between topics. And of course seeing them do well!
I believe that the best way for me to help my students learn is to go over the concepts, go through example problems together, and answer students' questions. If you want help with a graded assignment such as homework, we will go through examples that are similar to the problems you have been assigned. Then you have those examples to refer to when you do the graded assignment on your own and when you study for your test or exam.
Cancellation and lateness policy: If you need to cancel your lesson, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance via the Wyzant messaging system. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your scheduled lesson I reserve the right to charge you for it. If you are late, I will wait for you for 15 minutes after the start time of your scheduled lesson. If after 15 minutes you still have not arrived I will consider the lesson cancelled and I reserve the right to charge you for it.
Rate policy: I change my hourly rate periodically. Whatever hourly rate is listed on my profile at the time you first contact me will be your hourly rate for the remainder of the current semester, even if I change the rate listed on my profile.
