Hi. My name is Joseph. I have taught English for twenty-six years as at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I have a lot experience teaching writing, literature, and ESL. I have always loved teaching and my passion for it just keep growing. I particularly enjoy the process of assessing my students’ needs and determining which learning strategies work best for them. I then tailor individualized instruction based on this information. Throughout my career, I have worked with students with various abilities, including those with special needs. Perhaps the greatest reward I have ever received as a teacher is having students contact me years after they have left my classroom and telling me how much they appreciate everything I did for them.
Outside of teaching, I am an avid bicyclist and hiker. I am a musician. My main instrument is the bass, and I enjoy playing various types of music such as jazz, blues, rock, and country. I have lived in Italy and speak Italian with near native fluency. I know that I have a tremendous amount to offer anyone who is ready to take learning seriously and do the work necessary to reach their goals. I am ready to work hard on my end.
I have a bachelor's of science degree in Psychology, a master's degree in English literature, and a master's degree in educational leadership.
