***Lesson Structure***

Private instruction is a great opportunity for a student to learn the details to playing trumpet and making music. Playing trumpet can be fun and enjoyable. It can also be one of the most physically demanding instruments to play.

The physical aspect of playing can be the most crucial. Learning to play with proper air support, embouchure set, correct finger technique, and posture will not only make playing easier, but will also progress your abilities faster and more efficiently.

My lessons are structured around the proper physical approach to the horn while applying fundamental techniques such as: Lip Flexibility, Technical Fingering, Range, Proper Equipment, a

Game Changer

I can’t say enough good things about John’s teaching style. After 3 lessons my range and endurance have increased greatly. He has shown me simple techniques and basic principles that really explain how the trumpet works and what’s required to play it properly. I couldn’t be happier with his lessons and approach to teaching.

Trumpet Pro!

Whether you need advise on selecting a trumpet, how to clean the instrument, techniques and practice material to play high register, working on correct embouchure...Mr. John is the pro. He has been instrumental in helping to improve my breathing and embouchure so that I can play the more challenging parts in my school band. Mr. John is a wealth of resources and he is very responsive to my goals.

Patient and Entertaining

My son is 11 and is very enthusiastic about playing trumpet, but with school going all virtual, it has been difficult for him to learn. John was AMAZING. He was patient and provided great tips. My son is now just gushing about the lesson and how much fun he had. John has a great setup for remote teaching. I highly recommend him. We are going to continue the lessons.

John is a very professional, knowledgeable, patient and informative tutor.

For the first time I believe I have the right tutor who is is perfectly capable of helping me reach my goal of playing the trumpet. For the last few years my search to find that individual has fallen short. I now am confident I have the right tutor.
