Bio

I first began learning ancient Greek in 2008 at St. John's College in MD. I was very excited by ancient Greek, because it was such a cool language structurally, and gave a special kind of insight into the great works of classical Greece. Two years later I transferred to Hunter College where I continued to study Greek and began to study Latin. Latin became a fun follow up to learning Greek. Since I received my BA in Greek and Latin from Hunter College, I've gone on to enroll in the PhD program...

Since I received my BA in Greek and Latin from Hunter College, I've gone on to enroll in the PhD program in Classics at the Graduate Center of CUNY. At the Graduate Center, I've earned my Master's in Classics and am working on finishing up my PhD. While working on my degrees, I have taught courses on Latin and Greek at Hunter College and Queens College.
Studying Latin and Greek continues to excite me - I love getting to glimpse what people were thinking thousands of years ago. I bring my enthusiasm for these ancient languages to tutoring and will be thrilled to work with students on mastering either Greek or Latin.

I have been studying Greek for over 10 years now, Latin for 8. I have taught and tutored the languages both at the college and secondary level.

Since 2014, I have taught classics courses in translation at Brooklyn College and Hunter College. For these classes, students write papers that analyze great works of literature like the Iliad or Sophocles' Antigone. In 2017-2018 I was a tutor in the writing center at Kingsborough Community College, where I worked with students on papers in classes as diverse as English, Biology, History, and Political Science.

I look forward to being in touch about how we can work together to improve your writing and ancient language skills.
