New York University (Political Science)
I have experience tutoring 7 children in the past 3 years, all ranging between the ages of 10 to 17. I've tutored in varying subjects, such as elementary math, algebra I and II, English, and Common Core. I have also worked for America Reads, a tutoring company for elementary school students.
All of my students' class exam grades increased from an average of 65 to an average of 85. I love tutoring because as a kid, I always struggled with math, but could never find an affordable, easily available tutor that can easily break down the material for me. It took my parents quite a while to find a sufficient tutor that easily broke down materials for me so that I can understand them better. Because of that experience, I want to able to provide an excellent service to those who are in need of help.
I believe that the best way to learn difficult material is to simply water it down. It is far too common nowadays for teachers to teach new material with some over complicated equation or agenda. With new exams being created every few years (Regents, Common Core, etc.) students aren't able to catch up with the required materials for these exams. End of year exams are given in April for elementary and junior high students, too soon to cover all the materials required in class thoroughly. For Regents exams, graders nitpick the small details when solving a problem. However, since I have personally taken 10 Regents, and score at least a 90 on all of them, I can offer your child the necessary skills required to master these exams. I have done well on all my exams, high school and college, I have years of experience tutoring children of varying ages and subjects, and I am flexible with scheduling and rates. I know I will be a great fit for you child and his/her difficulties in a subject.
I received a 32 on my ACT math section, a 98 on my algebra 1 Regents, and a 95 in my algebra 1 class. I've also tutored 3 students in algebra
I scored an 11 in SAT writing (the old format), a 4 on the English AP, and a 97 in my English honors class.
I have tutored 2 kids in elementary and both excelled in their exams.
I don't charge expensively, and I am extremely flexible with rates and scheduling. I have experience tutoring 7 children in the past 3 years, all ranging between the ages of 10 to 17. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received a 97 on my algebra 1 Regents, and a 95 overall in my algebra 1 class. I have experience tutoring 4 students in algebra in the past 2 years. I simplify methods that are over complicated in school and give out several practice questions on every topic. I also received a score of 700 on my SAT math section and 32 on my ACT math.
I have tutored 3 students in elementary math and ela, as well as for the common core. Their exams increased by an average of 10-15 points. I have also worked for America Reads, a tutoring company for elementary school students.
