Hello! If you are looking for help improving your writing, either on a specific assignment or in general, I have over ten years of professional experience as a writing tutor, a college level teacher, and as a freelance editor. I have worked with students on every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas to outlining papers to final proofreading for clarity, flow and correct grammar. In addition, I have worked extensively with students in developing successful admissions essays for top-tier colleges and universities.
As a long-time teacher of literature and composition courses at the City University of New York, I know what teachers and professors are looking for when grading papers. As an experienced tutor in professional tutoring centers at both Brooklyn College and St. Joseph's College, I have worked with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and on assignments in many different subjects, including graduate programs; in addition, I have deep familiarity with MLA, APA and Chicago style formatting and citations.
My goal in tutoring is not to simply improve your writing on a single assignment but to further develop your writing abilities. Success for me is when you no longer need my tutoring services!
Having worked with students from so many different backgrounds and on every academic level, from high school to graduate school, I have learned how to translate my experience with writing into individualized sessions focused on your needs and abilities.
