About Rajini D.

As an independent tutor for the past 3 years, I've worked with high school students throughout their semester. I've assisted them with homework help, preparing for the regents examinations, proofread writing assignments in all areas such as Writing, Reading, Science, Math, etc. I've had rewarding opportunities to work with high school students, ESL students, and students, age ranging from 4 years to 9 years old. I've dedicated time to these students for the past 3 years and the experience has been rewarding, unpredictable, and inspiring.

It is exhilarating to assist students to optimize their potential. While writing my graduate thesis on the development of antibiotic resistance, I experienced the thrill of incorporating knowledge to brainstorm practical solutions for practical problems such as the development of antibiotic resistance, the continuous development of advanced medical technology to improve medical care and many more practical applications to real-world innovations.

I communicate well with people of all ages, race, and cultural background. Public speaking is challenging for many people; however, I use this method of speaking to display confidence. Portraying confidence to students is highly important and serves as a good model to encourage students to be engaged in their personal, social, and academic development. I am a dedicated person and instructor who incorporates both my academic knowledge and real life experiences to encourage students to strive for their best in any task. I am motivated to make a difference in young lives so that they are able to develop into adults who can potentially make our world a better place.

I love to learn, and teaching students give me a sense of accomplishment when I can share with them the information I’ve learned. Teaching is a way to empower individuals to realize their inherent potentials. As a graduate of Queens College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the Graduate Center, City University of New York, with a Master of Arts in Science and Technology, I am a strong believer in determination, hard work, and perseverance as factors that promote success. My approach is to utilize my academic experiences coupled with my life experiences to be an effective, knowledgeable, and reliable tutor. One of my goals, when teaching, is to assure students that learning new information and maintaining that knowledge is possible. During sessions, my objective is to encourage students but not to overwhelm them and at the same time produce positive results. I provide constructive feedback and assign homework to the students after each session.

Teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics topics are exhilarating. While writing my graduate thesis on the development of antibiotic resistance, I experienced the thrill of incorporating knowledge of the aforementioned areas into brainstorming practical solutions for practical problems such as the development of antibiotic resistance, the continuous development of advanced medical technology to improve medical care, and many more practical applications for real-world innovations.

Based on my diverse academic background obtained through taking many different courses from a variety of disciplines, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, I’m equipped with the experiences and knowledge to be a dependable tutor. I communicate well with all students and also work well with culturally diverse populations. I am acknowledgeable and love to troubleshoot problems to promote success. I look forward to working with you and to help you achieve positive results in your studies.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
