About Eric

Hello to all! My name is Eric, and I currently teach high school chemistry in Brooklyn, NY. I am in my third year of teaching chemistry. I attended the Johns Hopkins University to obtain my bachelor's degree in chemistry. I completed my master's program at Pace University and was a New York City Teaching Fellow.

Teaching chemistry and improving student performance have been my passion. I have prior experience in tutoring when I was an undergraduate in Baltimore. What I enjoy most about tutoring is the effectiveness of the one-on-one sessions where all questions can be addressed to the fullest detail. The individualized setting allows for hyper-focused attention for both the student and tutor. My purpose as a tutor is to provide you the best assistance with your learning and to seek major improvements in your understanding of chemistry.

I have come to respect chemistry since I took the course as a high school student. Studying chemistry at Johns Hopkins led to a greater appreciation of the subject. My effectiveness in teaching comes from straightforward, organized, and applicable explanations of conceptual topics. Mistakes and misunderstandings are part of the process and will not be judged. I exhibit professionalism and patience with all students' various learning styles and needs.

Please reach out to schedule your first session!
Thank you for your time.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
