About Thomas

I am a 5th year PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at University of Delaware. Teaching / tutoring comes very naturally to me. I've had a lot of success helping younger students understand difficult concepts because I'm able to explain abstract ideas in a tangible way (kind of what you should expect from an engineer). Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

Fluency in differential equations is essential for all engineers. I have taken 5+ courses in differential equations, including my graduate studies. I published a paper during my Ph.D. that demonstrated my knowledge of differential equations.

Mechanical Engineering

I received my degree in mechanical engineering from University of Delaware in 2010. Since then I have been working towards my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at University of Delaware, which I hope to complete in August 2016. In my PhD research and publications, I have employed my knowledge of core mechanical engineering subject material.
