About Marian

I am a passionate, friendly, and organized young professional living in the Brooklyn area and willing to commute to other boroughs.

I am a graduate of University of St Andrews (undergraduate degree in history of art, with courses in classics, anthropology, history, philosophy, and literature) and the Courtauld Institute (graduate degree in curating the art museum). I am an arts professional with a strong background in museum education, so I have great experience in helping people to learn in a variety of settings and age ranges, from elementary school to teenage and adult learning.

I am passionate about art, literature and the humanities. My areas of specialization are 18th - 21st century European and American history, literature, art, and culture, though my historical education is comprehensive. I am eager to help students at any level seeking help with reading, writing, and grammar/spelling skills, research and analysis skills, or resume, cover letter, and job searching skills.

Please be in touch if you have any questions regarding subject matter, scheduling, or to learn more about me. I have a very flexible schedule and am eager to help!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
