About Caleb

I have been studying religion and theology since I was twelve years old. I am shaped by the Catholic Christian tradition and experience. I have hold several degrees in Philosophy, Political Science, Systematic Theology, Pastoral Practice and Pastoral Theology. I have written extensively in the area of theological anthropology, missiology and evangelization. I have been working with students from the Pre-K level to Graduate School in various capacities for over 25 years. I believe that religious and theological awareness, enrichment, dialogue and collaboration is a quintessential element of building a Civilization of Love in the Twenty First Century. Religion and theology have enriched our public square with vocabulary and intellectual resources unparalleled in other disciplines.

As far as students that I will have the honor to tutor, I see every student as a temple of meaning who holds the potential to harness a new theological and religious awareness to become an invaluable participant in shaping and healing the world around us. I seek to assist students in making the best of their religious studies as a vital resource in discerning the presence of God and the power to do great things for those most vulnerable in our midst. I seek to assist students in identifying the vital correlation between faith and reason as secular humanism takes on a greater cultural voice. Most importantly, I seek to help students carve out of their religious studies "a reason for our hope in what Pope Saint John Paul II referred to as "these difficult times".

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Religion

I currently teach High School Theology at A College Prep Catholic High School in New York City. I hold an undergraduate degree in Philosophy as well as three Graduate Degrees in Theology from Accredited Universities and Colleges. I have educated youth at various age levels to prepare them for Sacraments and Mission-Success in Christian works of Service.
