Parents, you have a tremendous responsibility for the success of your children because you have control over the environment in which your children associate. School is one such environment in which your children will associate during their lifetime. While we cannot control all aspects of school, we can control the environment and time they spend outside of school. Your children deserve to think big about their futures. I believe that together we will be able to provide your children an excellent foundation to begin winning in their lives through those critical hours they spend outside of school. I just happen to do this through tutoring.

As a tutor with 5+ years of experience teaching students of all levels in Math, Algebra, and General Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) in after-school, summer enrichment, and private sessions, I have come to believe that bringing the best out of our students academically requires 2 elements - active participation and appropriate reinforcement. Often I hear parents criticize their children for being "quiet," "lazy," or "not motivated." I ask: are we giving our children the right environment to "own their voice," be "actively engaged," and "stay driven"? To succeed in any subject, students need an environment to try, fail, and adjust. Let's set them up for great habits not just in school, but in life. With my tutoring service, I believe that students will develop a "can do" attitude that will serve them well in their futures.

I am willing to teach in homes and outside of the home in public spaces (e.g. coffee shops); however, I am willing to travel to other locations. I hope to partner with your child and set them up for success and beyond. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear....

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I value flexible use of skills. With strong algebraic skills, I tutor and solve problems in science efficiently. By teaching algebra, I intend to impart thoughtfulness when writing steps, keenness for review of work, and improved strategizing for problem-solving in students. Ultimately, I have students ready for their class exams and semester exams.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I emphasize the development of a solid base of algebraic rules through organized algebraic work and articulation of concepts. Whether HW or exam prep, I incorporate my own problems into the lessons when appropriate. Algebra 2- make it a table for two.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

Chemistry is my area of study and I have tutored students in chemistry since high school. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry with honors and magna cumme laude. I have two years of research experience in organic chemistry synthesis. Expect to be drawing a lot with me--chemistry should be taught with as many visuals as possible. When it matters, tangible real-life examples of why your chemistry matters will come up when you sit down with me.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have been helping to prepare students for state/Regents exams since high school. Geometry is a very visual subject. I key in on diagrams and help students to take advantage of the images/figures/diagrams presented and mark it all up. Expect to be drawing and getting organized with showing your work for math problems! I also am a stickler about reserving the calculator for when it matters. I can be flexible with whatever other materials you bring to the table.
Physics,

Physics

In addition to chemistry, I have a strong physics and math background. I draw diagrams to ease students into visualizing major concepts. The bonus of choosing me to tutor physics is that I teach students how to solve math-based physics problems more efficiently. Students can expect to accelerate their mathematical reasoning and test-taking skills.

Trigonometry

I take students through visual analyses of geometric figures and graphs. I stress the formulas that you need to know to feel ready for both the regents and your trigonometry class. I gather materials on my own to supplement lessons. I tutor trigonometry!

Regents

Regents

Winner of all the major subject awards when I was a lad in high school, I can confidently say that every student preparing for the Regents needs to get their repetitions in to feel fully prepared for every Regents. I'll help by drawing diagrams, alerting you to major concepts, and get you to start speaking about the subject matter so you can prepare not only for multiple-choice questions, but also short-answer questions too. I currently provide tutoring services for the following NYS Regents: Chemistry, Math [Geometry, Trigonometry, and all Algebra], Biology, Physics
