My knowledge of art history and experience as a program designer and curator at some of the best museums in New York City leaves me uniquely qualified to instruct students in the analysis of works of art in all media from antiquity to the present. I specialize in preparing students in the critical thinking skills essential for success on many sorts of assessments.
Having received a BA in Art History and an MS in Museum Education Leadership from Bank Street College, I employ the most current and proven pedagogical methods for sharing my expertise with students. My joy is to help students realize their potential. Students under my tutelage have met with extraordinary success on standardized tests (including the AP Art History Exam,) coursework and other assessments. I have taught in secondary schools and museums/cultural institutions for over 15 years. Beginners of all ages and abilities are welcome (including college age).
My method of tutoring is clear and direct. I assess the student's needs by listening and posing diagnostic questions to determine our course of study. I am happy to work with any book or method that facilitates learning.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
