Metropolitan College of New York (Human Services)
Hi! My name is Richard and I would like to make you aware of my desire to explore tutoring opportunities with you.
As a young adult, I discovered my orientation toward the social work field while volunteering as a mentor at the Metropolitan College of New York, where I developed a strong rapport with faculty, staff, and students in the human services field. I was evaluated as "a caring individual who people learn to trust," and I was commended for my ability to "initiate new ideas and carry through with those ideas." I am known as a compassionate individual who genuinely cares about people, and I am also respected as an excellent organizer.
I am very well qualified and would be an asset to you because of my experience working as a tutor for both Henry Street Settlement and Champion Learning. In addition, I was a Lego Robotics Instructor at Oasis Kids. I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school teachers, as well as camp directors to develop curricula that meet the needs of students. I enjoy tutoring students and helping them build confidence in their ability to achieve both academically and socially.
I have operated at colleges, elementary schools, high schools, and community centers with diverse populations. I believe my professional and educational experience make me an ideal candidate, and I can assure you in advance that I am a highly motivated individual who would be committed to serving the needs of our community.
I look forward to discussing how my experience and skills can benefit you. Hi! My name is Richard and I would like to make you aware of my desire to explore tutoring opportunities with you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
